Title: Another mixer idea for a sidewheeler
Post by: Ronald Hallgren on June 20, 2005, 02:50:29 AM
I ve just made a setup at work that is similar to a sidewheeler. Its a round sofa (yes sofa like in furniture, I work in a theatre) with two motors and two speed controllers, I made a simple mix setup in a Graupner MC12 radio so that its one stick controlled, if you don t have free mixers in your radio I believe that it could be done with an external V-tail mixer if you reverse the Left-Right stick or servo lead before the mixer othervise it ll be turning the wrong way.
This solution would only take a cheap external V-tailmixer and a radio with servoreversal switch/possibility or a servoreverse cable.
Works fine with the sofa, if you do like left only it goes round and round and round....

Evening Roland - [do we call you from SVENSKA?] & thanks for your posted comments, but it's a bit beyond me!! - this evening I posted a
note re our [OZ] member Brett Hallett who [from memory] has sailed his model vessels in European competitions, complete with Y leads &
possibly V leads

Brett - could you clarify more here please or maybe post a comment/question back to PD's - [again it's a bit beyond me] - Derek

Hi there Derek/Ron,
I came accross this in our local club mag, a mixer
that will proportionally slow down the inboard motor and add power to
the outboard unit, steering is as good as if you had twin sticks for
throttles will work at rest to send one motor forward and the other
in reverse allowing the boat to spin on its axis it will work with
2,3,4 or more screws (or paddles) cost? US$40 +$3.50 priority mail
(to Canada) contact @ CaptnAJ@aol.com............Dai Powell
