Title: Tudor Vladimirescu was finally restored
Post by: Cristi0112 on June 19, 2005, 09:44:15 PM
Hi everyone!
I am from Galati, Romania, interested in historical ships.
Finally, "Tudor Vladimirescu" was restored both in Galati and Braila
shipyards; restauration is finished in 80% percent; now the ship
makes some test-travels until the end of August; if everything will
be O.K. it will be reentered in turistic circuits from the end of
September.
Best regards,
Cristi

Many thanks Cristi for the info. Very good to know that she has been
restored and not to left to rot like the John H Amos.
What does she finally look like?
There are some notes about her here
http://www.danube-research.com/TVlad.html but nothing to show how she looks
now.

Please let us know any more news, as you get to know it.

All the best
David

Hi David,
She looks well, but not exactly like restoring plans from Danube-
Research site. They tried to maintain the old line of that ship with
some changes, of course ( radars, modern navigation equipments ).
You can see a photo attached in Photos section - Tudor Vladimirescu-
august 2003.
All the best,
Cristi
