Hi there,
I am a researcher looking into shipwrecks of Lake Ontario. Primarily
within the Niagara-Hamilton-Toronto region.
I thought that this would be a good place to gather information on a
paddlewheeler that sunk off of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada sometime in
the late 1800's.
Our group, Save Ontario Shipwrecks, is conducting a survey of this
wreck which we believe is a paddlewheeler (based on the parts that
survived). We currently do not know which ship this is, nor are we
experienced with this type of ship design to be able to quickly look
at components that could place a date on it's construction (possibly
date stamped metal components).
I was hoping to gather information from those that are experts on
this type of ship design to be able to identify the ship.
Those that can assist, any information that can be obtained would be
appreciated.
