Description: WW II J Class Destroyer. Construction: Scratch built Timber hull, Superstructure, mostly tin-plate. Propulsion: 2 x Saito Double acting twin steam engines fed by single boiler gas fired. Image taken: Lake Burley Griffen, Canberra, Australia about 1975. Full throttle at approx 40lbs. Much quicker than fast walking pace, however, the bow wave looks more to scale.
