Waverley steamplants?
Eddy Matthews:
Someone on another forum mentioned that Marine Modelling International, and Model Boats magazine had both given some brief details of a new paddler steamplant that was due for release soon....
I don't get either of these magazines, so does anyone have any further info on them? Manufacturer, price, etc etc...
Bill Hudson:
Eddy,
I don't get either magazine but I just received my first North American Steamboat Modeler's Association newsletter where they featured the new
Regner (of Germany) Premium steam Plant. It is a two flywheel unit sutible for paddle wheel boats. The twin cylinder oscillating engine is 10 mm X 14 mm. which makes it slightly larger than the Puffin. The Regner boiler is virtually the same size as the Cheddar's boiler. The plant includes safety valve, pressure gauge, sight glass, refillable gas tank and valve, throttle valve, burner assembly with piezeoelectric igniter, and oiler. Also comes with some other accessories. Lots of nice details. Price listing is around 560 Euros. I don't know if you can find Regner on the web as I have nog checked.
U.S. distributer is Ken Johnson of the Train Department, 512 Summers Dr., Norfolk, VA 23509. Tel. (757) 855-6364. Web: www.traindept.com

I don't have that (MMI) magazine to hand, but the information was brief! No price as I recall. It basically jus said that Waverly were introducing two (I think) new engines, boilers to follow - see website for details. As we know, model boats traders are not very good at web sites. Can't find anything in the two latest MBs
