HI PD’s - Sean, I think the 70>150 PSI you mention may be for full scale [real – life size] steam whistle systems – most of our OZ paddlers appear to have had boilers within this general range & I am sure steam fog horns or whistles on vessels with higher pressure steam systems would have use steam pressure reducing valves for this purpose

Tis a pity that the old Cheddar link is gone as I would have referred to it – have you checked other WEB sites for detail on model steam whistles? as my understanding is most ‘general’ model boilers appear to limit out at say 60 PSI or lower

Having said all this, from experience a model boiler system could set you back $1000 AUD - Derek

Thanks for your replies guys and yes Derek I thought it might drown it out too. Thats why I was wondering if maybe the model boiler would work.....but I was researching steam whisatles and they need between 70 and 150 PSI can you do that on a model boiler?
