Greetings from the Yarra Valley Australia
« on: November 12, 2023, 08:56:18 AM »
Hello
A new member from down under. Though a builder of mainly plastic models since a small boy I'm now retired and can devote time to building (static) model boats. As with my plastic modelling I seem to have several boats on the go. Amongst the collection of works to be done is a paper model of the PS Adelaide and the Hjejlen from Billngs. The later kit was started by my late brother and passed on to me by his children. So whilst having built many models I'm somewhat of a newbie to the world of wooden ship modelling. Lucky to have a good Ship Modelling supplier within 20 minutes of me.  Hope to soon start posting some work the first will be the PS Adelaide which having started in paper have decided to redo in wood.
Regards Peter

Welcome on board Peter

Not sure if you aware, but Float a Boat Model ships in Melbourne have reproduced accurate hand-drawn plans in 1:24 Scale of many of our Paddlers [including PS Adelaide]

https://www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=cafca2a6781dc6e5JmltdHM9MTY5OTY2MDgwMCZpZ3VpZD0yZmYwMzEzNy1iODk2LTZkMzItMDIyMS0yMjBlYjk2YzZjODgmaW5zaWQ9NTQ4Mw&ptn=3&ver=2&hsh=3&fclid=2ff03137-b896-6d32-0221-220eb96c6c88&psq=www%2f%2ffloataboat%40+com.au&u=a1aHR0cHM6Ly9mbG9hdGFib2F0LmNvbS5hdS9wcm9kdWN0LWNhdGVnb3J5L3BsYW5zL2Zsb2F0LWEtYm9hdC1wbGFucy8&ntb=1

However at the as drawn 1:24 Scale is too small for my steam plant, so had then rescaled to 1:16, so larger

I will get there one day..........looking forward to your build thread

Derek
