2 cylinder vertical engine
« on: September 20, 2022, 01:53:43 AM »
I have only just joined, and as I said in my introduction post, one of the things I am most interested in is steam engines.  I made a 16mm scale locomotive 30 years ago and was part way through another when circumstances conspired against further progress.  I have (sort of) retired and am picking things back up, but I have inevitably lost some of the skills I had, so rather than relearn them on the half-built engine, I thought I would start a new project.  That way the level of competency should be improving as I go along, rather than making the next bits on the loco (cylinders) to a lower standard than what has already been done. I fancy a small 2 cylinder vertical engine, as typically used in marine applications, and which could possibly be put into a loco if it works out well, and with that in view, cylinders 3/8" bore would be about right.  From what I can see this fits quite well with Malcolm Beak's MB22, but has anyone any other ideas, please?
